Idol Idol Idol

Wednesday, March 5th, 2008 by Marnie

I love reading the American Idol blogs.  It’s interesting to me how different people have different favorites.  Even when it’s obvious to me, who is the best… ( that’s a joke..lol )

I do have  my favorites.  For the girls - Asia’h Epperson and for the boys - David Archuleta.  My props go out to Dave Cook for last nights performance of “Hello.”  It was the best of the night.

I’m going out on a limb and predicting  Luke and Danny will be voted off this week.

Carly Smithson, an American Idol hopeful this year had a previous record deal.  Smithson whose maiden name is Hennessy signed with MCA in 1999.  Her album was released in 2001 but never reached sales of 1,000 units.  It is within American Idol rules to have had a prior deal just not be currently under contract.  Yet, the controversy continues…is she a ringer?

Yahoo!’s Top Trends in Search reveals a portrait of a culture on the brink of political breakaways, celebrity breakdowns, technological breakthroughs, environmental action, sporting errors and final farewells to popular icons.

“Searches can give us insight into a culture in motion and Yahoo!’s Top Trends in Search in 2007 reflects the world’s fascination with crossroads and breakthroughs. People weren’t just buzzing about celebrity. More than ever they sought to be environmentally responsible, were using the Web to find out about food and product safety and getting the scoop on the latest gadgets,” said Heather Cabot, Yahoo! Web Life Editor.

Toy recalls, bearing the likeness of Thomas the Tank Engine and Fisher Price, suddenly spiked in searches due to the discovery of lead based paint in their products.  Ultimately, the commanding search of food safety-related searches such as Menu Foods, E. coli, and Topps, surged to the top in an effort to stay informed. His death provoked a strong search reaction, although plans for his legacy continue to be in the works.

May I Have The Envelope Please?

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007 by Matt

Flintstones Do It Again

Friday, November 23rd, 2007 by Matt

Geico has been doing some creative TV advertising for a while and one of my favorites is the one featuring the Flintstones.

But this isn’t the first time the Flintstones have been used in an ad.  Believe it or not, years ago the Flintstones were featured in an ad for Winston cigarettes.  It’s funny to see Fred and Barney lighting up.

If you’re anything like me, there is no way you have time to sit and watch all the reality and talk shows that you might have an interest in.

th_thesoup.jpgI personally find myself watching or setting my dvr to catch the show “The Soup.”  Host Joel McHale is downright perfect for this show and the half and hour he spends recapping the week’s reality and talk shows is laugh out loud funny.    “The Soup” is consistantly funny and helps to keep me up to speed on the craziness on TV.  Watch it!   It’s on E! several times a week.

Superman

Monday, September 17th, 2007 by Marnie

I was watching “Superman Returns” and it got me to wondering how many actors have played characters like Superman and Lex Luthor.  Now I’m not a big comic book reader but if you are and your interested to see who has played your favorite heros and villians over the years, check out Wikipedia’s page on this very subject.

Here is just three of the many actors who have played Superman.  Christopher Reeve, Brandon Routh and Dean Cain.
